Get involved

Our members own and run True Food. Many customers choose to join our cooperative as members to shape how we run our business, and be actively involved. We also welcome non-member volunteers, and friends.

How can I get involved?

We always need help in our shop and you can volunteer for as short (or as long!) a time as you want. Hosting is a very important and enjoyable role. You will always be helping alongside one of the staff team to make sure customers feel welcome, take their payments and help with general tasks around the shop. Other roles include opening, closing, cleaning and restocking the shop.

If helping in the shop isn't for you, there are many other roles behind the scenes that are just as crucial. True Food can't function without volunteers, so there's no need to have relevant experience for most tasks - you'll receive all the training you need.

You don't have to be a member of True Food to volunteer, but if you do become an active member and help True Food for at least three hours in each given calendar month you will receive a card offering a discount on ALL shopping during the following month! With no minimum spend!

Even without the financial incentive, most helpers find getting more involved very rewarding. It's a great way to develop new skills, meet new people and feel part of your local community.

You can volunteer to help through our website or by emailing helperadmin@truefood.coop
