As a cooperative, True Food is owned and controlled by its members.

Members are the backbone of True Food and without them we would not exist.

Any profits we make are fed back into the business and the local community, however members benefit by gaining discounts on shopping, having a say in how True Food is run, learning new skills, as well as becoming part of our welcoming community!

What Do Members Do?

Members contribute in different ways. Many help with the running of the shop, including working on the till, restocking and cleaning. Others help with admin, run our social media accounts, wash our aprons, take away our recycling, serve on the committee, and represent True Food at events as well as many other jobs behind the scenes. Some members volunteer every week, while others carry out ad hoc tasks. To find out how you could get involved, see our Volunteering page.

If you contribute two or more hours a month, you will be entitled to a discount the following month.

Who Can Become A Member?

If you are over 18, you support our mission and you can commit to volunteer three hours of your time per quarter, then you can become a member! Find out how to become a member here.

If you would like to be part of the True Food community, but are unable to commit this amount of time, you can still volunteer on an ad hoc basis, come to events, attend member meetings, and of course shop with us at any time! Follow us on TwitterFacebook or Instagram or talk to our members and staff in store to find out all the latest news.
