True Food has a small staff team who perform roles that are not suitable for our members or volunteers.
Helga Bogisch-Francis – Shop Manager

I live locally with my family and discovered True Food in February 2013. I became an active member straight away, helping at the shop for 14 months before I joined the staff team in April 2014.
I studied, trained and worked in areas as diverse as psychology/psychotherapy, magazine editing and bookbinding, but feel at True Food I have arrived home.
In my spare time I play recorders in small groups and orchestras. I also enjoy playing Scrabble, reading detective fiction and cycling.
Tayma Cannon – Business Development Lead

My role covers marketing, membership, events and supporting our development work. Previously, I have worked for a number of universities around the country in roles involving outreach, recruitment, relationship management and events.
I enjoy a variety of fitness pursuits, cooking for my family and can often be found in one of the local parks with my two boys. Originally from Cornwall, I love being by, in or on the sea!
Tony Mallett – Shop Manager/Operations Manager

I first became aware of True Food when my son was at Emmer Green Primary School around 2015. In January 2022 I began volunteering at the shop, before becoming a casual shop manager and starting my current role as Shop Manager (providing maternity cover).
My background has mainly been in IT, across a wide range of industries (Financial Services, Government, Property Management, Education). Working at True Food is something completely different for me, and I’m loving the close knit feel of everyone involved in the shop. I am a huge advocate of the ethical and sustainable values of the shop and the fact that all staff, volunteers, members and customers are fully signed up to these values.
I love spending time with my family, keeping fit and active (walking, running, cycling, football) and am a huge music fan – my record collection is in danger of taking over the whole of our house!
Simon Warner – Shop Manager/Buyer

I am delighted to join the team as Shop Manager and Buyer after being a regular shopper and volunteer for over 10 years, and more recently a relief shop manager.
I have been a freelance video editor for over 30 years, working on broadcast documentaries, corporate and community videos. It feels the right time for me to step away from that world and become permanently involved in the True Food team. I am passionate about locally sourced organic food as a means to maintaining health and sustainability. I also very much enjoy working in my local community after many years of commuting to London.
When not shopping, volunteering or working at True Food I am often out cycling, scything on the local commons, or wondering around in nature, such as at the Warburg Nature Reserve where I am a regular volunteer. I also enjoy a pint of locally brewed ale and a good film – preferably at a local independent cinema.
Sue Whitehouse – Finance Manager

I first discovered True Food by chance while attending dance classes in the church hall opposite the shop having moved to the area from London in 2017.
Having spent many years working in the music industry, I was excited to start working at True Food in September 2022 and relished the new challenge of working in retail, particularly as part of a team for an ethical, member-run organisation.
I am passionate about good, healthy food and love to cook. My other hobbies include dancing to keep fit, animals & nature, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
